On Saturday, May 18, 2024, Alejandra Alfaro and Monserrat Mata represented AVANCE-North Texas at the Impact Communities Dallas Family Health and Wellness Symposium at Dallas College Irving Center.

At the event, Alejandra, Monserrat, and other speakers discussed vital topics such as Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs), Mental Health First Aid, and the importance of maintaining mental health. They explored protective factors outlined by the CDC and how programs like the AVANCE PCEP, FBC, and HOPES are making a significant impact.

AVANCE thanks all the PCEP families who actively participated with questions and comments. Together, we are learning to combat the stigma associated with mental health, understand the negative impact of ACEs, and recognize protective factors.

We hope these discussions continue to light the path to a healthier future for our families, reinforcing the positive impact of our two-generation approach. Thank you for being part of this journey towards well-being!
