Special Events. Love to plan events? AVANCE-North Texas has two amazing fundraising Events for you, Bookworm Brunch & Bazar and AVANCE Latino Street Fest.

Toy Making Class and Early Childhood Development Class. Our toy making class is one the most unique things about the AVANCE curriculum. We use ordinary household items and turn them into stimulating educational toys for the children. You will work with us to prepare necessary materials for these classes. This are wonderful opportunities for Corporate Volunteer Partners, these are enjoyable and engaging, fostering a sense of ownership in your community. In addition to making an impact, corporate volunteer projects can be valuable team-building exercises that increase brand awareness. From on or off-site volunteer projects to employee giving, there are countless ways for your organization or business to make futures so bright for more families in our community.

Toy Competition. This is an open house style event where our supporters and friends volunteer to judge the 25 hand-made toys finalist from among 700 unique didactical toy made by AVANCE parents using all the tools and resources learned in the AVANCE Educational Toy making class. The top 5 places will receive a scholarship for a class on a community college paid by AVANCE.

Dia del Niño. Día del Niño (Day of the Child) is a closed program event for registered AVANCE participants to enjoy a day full of outdoor activities. The winners of the Toy Competition are announced.

AVANCE-North Texas Graduations. This event is the culmination of the first academic success – of many more to come- for the AVANCE families. During the graduations participants receive a symbolic diploma and their school year’s portfolio after completing 9 months of instruction.

Reading with AVANCE. Reading is a fundamental aspect in the progress and enrichment of society. At AVANCE we promote volunteering opportunities for people who are interested in reading to preschool children.
